An effective teacher could be used to describe a teacher who is able to get his/her learners hooked. Also, effective teaching must involve engagement of all the learners of all different learning styles and competencies. In fact, a teacher who is always there to scaffold learning, invite through well-designed activities all learners to participate, do his/her best to lower learners'  affective filter, and s/he always interferes to facilitate learning and follows up can be said to be a truly effective teacher.

In my opinion, a good teacher needs to be dedicated to his career and dedicated to the thought of communicating new information to his/her students. A good teacher needs to have passion because when students see their teacher is passionate about his/her subject they will be more interested in learning from them. Also, having passion will show in the form of excitement when a lesson is being given.
