From my point of view: The output of the training does not depend if it is conducted outside or inside the Org. What should be given priority is the comfort-ability of the participants(Easy to reach), the environment of the training room. If the training room is available inside the organisation then it should be given priority as participants are comfortable with it and only trainer needs to adjust in the environment.
inside .We get a lot easy by showing examples and proceedures when things are handy.
Both in-house and outside training sessions are very much welcomed as long as it serves the purpose of Training delivery. Mixture of skills and various organizations interaction in the classroom would be an add-on. I would also recommend Online/eLearning training sessions which is becoming large part in recent top level education/organizations.
It is better to train from a designated room for training purposes outside the work place so that we can show some visuals, presentation regarding traing and it will be easy for wmployees to lear and understand quickly. By training from outside workplace the work process going on will not be disturbed.
Any pratical training topic whithinn the facility; the resaon is you have the tools and products to communicate your expecetaion clearly. i.e. a service standard, how to open a bottle of wine etc;.
In the other hand a training on stragedies, financail reports or any theoritical subgect, I would like to conduct outside the property. I believe team members tend think better and focus harder, when away from thier work place. Overall, the topic and avaialibility of resources would be a factor.
It depends upon the type of training program on the basis of Skill-set to be honed. There are three types of training programs on that basis ; Behavioural, Functional and Knowledge. Better to take Behavioural and Knowledge programs outside. The Functional programs where skills and the work-place are inseparable, the programs must be conducted in-house.
Besides, practically it is better to manage training programs in-house for Operational staff, as much as possible, provided we have good training facility. M & M has created good training facilities under the scheme called as "Bodhi-vriksha"". Taking them out would mar the production and T & D efforts would be looked down as hindrance rather than enabler. Whereas, strategic level management staff is psychologically anchored much to their work-place (especially their cabins). It is better to arrange training outside for them to enhance their "Trainaibility"
It depends on the type of training program that is planned. If its an Induction on-board training for new employees or for employees who are located in other geographies, then the training should be conducted inside the workplace, as it will give them an exposure to see the organization and feel the experience of the atmosphere. If its a team building program then an outbound training will be preferable.
It is better to take training sessions inside work enviroment, because the trainees will be more concentrated and get habituated to the work envirnmont and shows dedication towards learning.
inhouse training is cost effective & comfortable
When we talk of on-th-job- training, that has to be given inside to gain hands-on understanding and expertise. Training given outside is conducive for the mind to be free and unleash its full potential, without bounds.
its better to conduct training session inside the work place because it will be actual for those who does the training to see the actual view of the job, where its more beneficial for the applicant.
