Exploit is an ugly term, through participative management, you may be able to draw on the employees skills and knowledge above and beyond his/her position requirements. This is a management skill required of senior managers to form a coercive and functional team. Treat them with respect and show that you care, and they will give 110%..

I Prefer Participatory Management, because as a team, I can get more ideas and suggestions form the team members.

Thanks / Praveen

Thanks for the invitation.

I prefer Participative Management because in this mode employees comparatively feel free to share their ideas thereby making me realize their strong points which inturn will help me to utilize them to their best of abilities.

The word "exploit" is not appropriate, but utilizing instead. I would prefer participative management  since my subordinates are members of my team. i want them to be active and be involved as a whole. This will surely made them think out of the box, also an opportunity for them to excel more and be more proactive. I was once in their position, and I always wanted to be heard, so I want to make it a cycle for this will make them the future management.
