What is the mindset you require while taking charge of a new job as a team lead or a Manager, where the team I command works in the firm for quite long time?

This is a usual question when you are joining to a new company as a Project Manager or Manager to any department, and you are getting to understand that the people you command are working for significant amount of years and even though I am their head and they still feel I am new to the company being their head of the department.

The mindset you require is that of an experienced and capable member of the team.

Old teams are wary of a new boss, and rightly so.  Always think of things from the point of view of the team.  What do they need? Want?

It is very important that you show a willingness to learn, and then learn.  They know what they are doing and you can't help them until you know too.
