Some of the software which are used for energy modeling are eQuest, Visual DOE, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, IES Virtual Environment.

Energy Plus is probably the best tool for general research.  EcoTect is good for basic work but not more detailed investigation.  IES is a good - if expensive - package for consulting work, and is particularly useful for representing HVAC controls as its native settings are closer to industry practice than Energy Plus in my experience.

I agree with SAJIN SHAMSU KUNJU  but I like Design Builders and engine of Design Builders is Energy Plus
