Do you think that using projectors in your home instead of TV's is going to happen in the coming 3 years?

no...its never gonna happen!!!

I don't think so, while projection is fun it still has its cons like:

• Room lights
• if it's a TV replacement, you will have to change light bulbs very often 
• Heat and noise generated on most of the projectors
• Setting up a source of content to be displayed might be hard for regular consumer 
• Setting up the sound system  
• Higher resolutions might be expensive (2k and 4k)
• Contrast and color accuracy is no where close to TV   

on the other hand, TVs can run anywhere with minimal configuration and setup with a much longer lifespan with a higher resolution and color quality and comes with sound out of the box!
