I totally agree with you Shobha, also, A Manager should Have a checklist for hiring any new candidate by: - Determining the need behind the hiring process is one important aspect as well.
- Developing the right job specification and the description of the roles and responsibilities that this candidate has to fulfill - Choosing the Hiring Method whether company site, job sites, recruitment agency ..
Etc - select the best candidate for the job - Cultural fit (some cases the candidate fit the job yet he/she doesn't fit the organizational culture) - Prepare the right assessment for the candidate This will definitely improve your employee selection process.
An improved recruiting and selection process ensures that your organization is selecting candidates who will succeed and star as members of your superior work force.

In my opinion, at the end of the selection process the hiring manager should be able to answer the three questions below in the affirmative.
- Can the candidate do the job? (Job Knowledge/ Relevant experience/ Can the manager envision the candidate sitting at his/her desk doing the job?) - Does the candidate want to do the job? (Attitude/ Behavior) - If hired, is the candidate manageable? (Chemistry between the manager and the candidate/ Does the Manager see the candidate as part of his/her team) If the manager is unable to answer the above questions, there are obviously some gaps that need to be addressed.

Among the questions a manager should ask himself whether he should proceed with hiring or not is :

-Do we have a budget to hire .

-Can this task be done by any other person available in the company.

-Is it a critical task and it's delay have consequences on the project's time limit
