1- Every Person is unique: values, potential and personality
2- Strong personalities are threatening to others and no matter what they do or how genuent you are you are misunderstood
it is very interesting question and in our professional life we all face this problem.
In my view, to ignore such type of prejudice by showing positive behavior and most importantly never react to such prejudice.
Keep in mind Professional can never afford prejudice.
So I suggest you to keep yourself away from such sort of politics and spend your time and energy on productive things.
The question is very interesting, related to human psychology & dynamic in nature. Therefore no simple laymen text answer is possible. I'm putting up my views below.
Prejudice, something difficult to tackle with. But it's a great learning of life for everyone once one learn the way to change it.
The notions can be changed depending upon the type of Prejudice. An unconscious prejudice is easier to change compared to the conscious one.
Here are the answers now:
Ans 1 : The point/question is generic & true in general. But that question is if this happens in the job/ work place ? Best organizations follow a defined assessment process before selecting the candidates, in both terms professional & personal assessment. They do that in order to have same potential (not skills) & some characteristics of the personality relevant to the job. So, to cut it short, if the best HR TA processes are well adhered by then such things were very rare to find out at workplace.
Then the only option left is to develop those things. Who (employee, employer or others) would develop, how & when, that is a different question.
Ans 2 : This is not true all the time in all senses, but it's believed at work that strong personalities will push you to the corner or something. But it's dynamic in nature. Some people who are good leaders or good team mates may not be a threat to anyone, they might be interested in knowing the things genuinely or in some case might offer one to improve where one lacks.
Thank you for the invitation
I think the answer number one best for me
