Short is usually a year or less and long is anything that exceeds one year.

The short one work on limited period not more than a year , while long one working on not limited period "let say all business life cycle"

By definition, " Vision" is the articulation of the image, values, direction and goals that will guide the future of the organization, and in planning we usually we used following expressions:
Short Term: to express a period of one year maximum.
Medium Term: to express a period of: more than one year and less than five years maximum.
Long term: to express a period of more than five years.
Short-term vision requires operational strategies (team selection, team and performance management etc) to meet it whilst long-term vision requires long and sustainable strategies (effective culture, change management etc).
