Definitely the machine lay out play a mojor role in production efficiency. In a Production/Manufacturing shop floor, every section is the customer of the previous section or in other words the product of one machine is the raw material of the next machine. So The machine layout should be such that, the every machine should form a chain ie, from RAW MATERIAL to FINISHED PRODUCT.
I was discussing this point with a client just yesterday. The answer to the question is yes it does.
The shorter the distance the product travels through production, the less handling and stoppage time there is and so the production method is more efficient.
If you can design your process for single piece flow through lines / cells then you reduce buffers and handling which can remove 90% of the processing time.
Draw your value stream maps to visualise the touch time, then start designing the process flow to eliminate the non value added times.
Absolutely yes, layout of machine is the first step for machine efficiency thorugh this one can eliminate bottlenecks and improve productivity and efficiency
Layout is important to avoid motion loss which is affecting prodction efficiency
Yes..because lay out is consuming a lot of time it is the most heavy task for the company meaning management are evaluating all kinds of topic by running production line @ machinery, including operators
One of the most important factors of productivity is Line Layout
Yes,Absolutly. If the machine kept in order as per process you will save time, cost Etc transfering of job from one process to other process
Sure, because every machines have different type varieties,The lay out of a machine briefly explains its parts and so an expert can easily identify the functions of each part, that tells the efficiency of that machine.
definitely yes will affect the productivity of the plant and the asset cost of the project
yes.. proper Layout of Production Machin will reduce the handling of product and can increase the speed of overall production process.
