Decisions can be made through either an intuitive or reasoned process, or a combination of the two.
A Systematic Approach for Making Decisions is as below
1.Create a constructive environment.
2.Investigate the situation in detail.
3.Generate good alternatives.
4.Explore your options.
5.Select the best solution.
6.Evaluate your plan.
7.Communicate your decision, and take action.
Get back to the most common – and still effective – decision-making technique of all: a pros and cons list. Write down all the positive and negative aspects of the dilemma. It’s better to use a bigger paper format, like A3 – don’t let the size of your stationary limit your options!
Join online communities with the aim of attending picnics, flash mobs or popular events throughout your city. You will feel yourself part of a big, big society, accompanied by an understanding that every individual’s life means a lot and every person influences thousands of lives every day. You’ll also have hundreds, or thousands, of examples and experiences to draw upon when making decisions about your own life.
The only way to improve the decision making skills is to leave that subject to the stake holders or and team members and give them freedom to offer without any destructive critics. You as an effective leader can only take one among the made decisions by them.

a good leader should also be a good listener... he/she should listen to all opinions, ideas and suggestions and think it several times before he/she decides.
Decision making is tough job. However to develop decision making skill is always anchor to the basic questions what is wrong and what is right decision. To make a decision is always look to the concrete issue of the problem. Investigate the roots and factors and analyzed it carefully, if the issue break the rules and guidelines of the company then you have to pause and think. Remember that your decision should be fair to both company and employees or both parties. Decision is always to be fair. However decision pertaining transaction of your company, always put your decision on the protection of your company otherwise your decision will put your company into danger. Firstly understand the project scope and make sure its implementing as per the requirement of stakeholder and if any changes required should be approved by management.Search for the shortest possible solution with cost effecting and by maintaining project schedule.
