Not only managers but everyone in the world loves people who are doing or actually working.....
People love Doctors not patients....
Students loves Teachers more than their students themselves.
People love players not audience.......
All people including managers loves people who actually work or do something which is beneficial and constructive for others....
To be Socially friendly., is also the most important part which has to be included in your work.
Like If doctor are good at work but shouts on patients than this is disgusting.
Teacher is good at teaching but doesn't give any respect tto students than no one will love to work with them.
Players are good at their work but they are rude than no one will love to watch them.
So I believe both the qualities are equally important for anyone in what ever they do.

THE INTEREST OF THE JOB FIRST IS ABOVE ANY OTHER THING.THE JOB BROUGHT HIM TO THE ORGANISATION HE MUST CONCENTRATE ON THE WORK FIRST TO ACHIEVE A GOOD RESULT.HARD WORKING STAFF WOULD GAIN GROUND AND ACCEPTANCE BY HIS SUPERIOR OFFICERS.

Of course, managers prefer achievable employees whom they are able to well manage their time, priorities duties, always delivering assigned missions on its due times, talented, with a positive attitude, coordinate and cooperate with their coworkers, doing their jobs in a very effectively, efficiently and in a high professional manner with a minimum supervision.
In fact any manager desires to find in one the both qualities. Because either one alone will not be interesting.
