Internet was founded in the 1980s and www came into being in 1990 and ever since the internet is still evolving. From the oldest search engine Archie to Yahoo to ask jeeves and now to google & bing; the search engine indexing and related technologies are changing and so is the search engine of choice changing.
From the current text based search things are evolving to voice based and image based searches. Therefore SEO will continue as long as www exist and for SEO professionals there is is never a full-stop only commas.
