Never, the video is a one way input while the trainer shall create interactivity. Videos shall be selected carefully with utmost relevance and shortest possible  periods and intervals.

Videos are aids to the trainers and not a replacement of them.

Presenting a video is one of a great tool in training and I don't think this lessens the presence of the trainer. However it is very important choose the correct video, the length and relevant of it. At the end the trainer needs to have a follow up check on the effect of the video to the trainees.

Audio and Visual training is the most effective tool for the trainees to understand and retain the content of the training. However, it depends on the trainer's skills to make the training more efficient and productive by motivating the trainees and planning the training session properly.

Videos are a quicker way to grasp the attention of your trainee audience. It can only help to enhance and engage the audience. Importance of the trainer is not dependent on such props but rather the trainer herself/himself. If you are unable to convince the audience the importance of the training and involve them in participation, you will lose your importance.
