No it is not enough. I think the genetic tests is fine to identify the same. Doctors diagnose thalassemias using blood tests, including a complete blood count (CBC) and special hemoglobin tests.

No, this require more testings like hemoglobin electrophoresis and gene sequencing to detect related mutations.
