I feel, it is possible, depending on various circumstances under which the organisation culture is built up. If the overall office environment, accepts people from different back ground and culture, it reduces formation of small group with vested interest. However, it requires leaders and managers with open-mindset who can drive their business well.

I do not prefer that type of office conversations, which affect the spirt of coordination an cooperation between coworkers and creating hate between team work members.

Once you promote a professional work environment and set your rules, what to do and what to not do, you probably can.
You also need to promote personal boundaries, in some cultures, political opinions are considered personal information.
