Partly true & sometimes not so. Yes its true that sometimes our inability to take on risk prevents us from getting followers like we desire BUT sometimes it might not be necessarily only our inability to forego risk thus some other reasons may include our character, behavior, personality, reputation or track record, "under qualification", bad influence or undue influence from oneself or others who dislike you, incompetence, pride & egoism etc. All the above factors may hinder us from being followed like we would love to be. Thanx for the invitation

It's partially true as a general statement. Taking risks means being initiative and adventurous but this also differ depending on the risk appetite of different people. A lot of successful people followed other successful people leads and guidance but still called successful rather than followers.

To be followed is to be a leader.

I would like to beleive n state thatfirst of all YES i agree because a Leader has to take risks, calculated well thought risks which dont affect the business adversely n the future of those working in the team.  But then depends on a lot of factors like age, education, training, exposure, shadowing leaders, work culture (lot of businesses strangulate leaders where they cant open up well enough) n the environment around the person in question.  Leading is a very sensitive n responsible role n you r being watched n followed n drawn inspiration from, hence a leader needs to be very carefully take the necessary risks.  on the other hand it is also a learning process.  If one does not take risks, one would not know his or her ability to excel n lead

Risk taking is essential, but easier said then done. Your culture, family and environment around you also shapes your risk taking personality. But start small and learn how to take risk.
