When you meet your co-worker, first greet him with a smile "Good morning (or Aslalamo Alaikum),   How are you? Then conversation may start  depending upon situation. We need to remember "Greeting is must  to break the ice".

It always shows good integirty to greet your colleagues everyday and show them you are approachable to discuss key topics and that you are a team player.

I agree, it depends on the situation.

A morning greeting is different than a conversation..

I disagree, that a greeting is breaking the ice, rather I see it as a civil act or showing good manners.

At times it is best just to listen first, before speaking... you may not have the entire picture and need more information

Extroverts will start the conversation while introverts will wait for others to start. Try to balance your personality so that you are both a listener and talker from time to time.

Thank you for the invitation.

I would love to have an open attitude towards this very question. Conversation is one of the vitals of any relationship. So as far as I am concerned, I love to start with a welcoming smile followed by greetings for the day . I might start a little of conversation here as I think that keeping in touch not only helps in team building nd also helps the trust factor.

Like I am there for you and vice versa.

You Start the day by greeting others and depending on the situation you could start up a conversation,It's always good to be free with others and open minded,Its makes the working environment lively to wprk in

There can never be one way traffic in such environment. Today I can start, and tomorrow someone else can start. It depends: if my co-worker finds me at work, I expect him/her to greet me first and the conversation can start from there. If I find him/her at work, I feel that I should be the first to initiate a conversation. The issue of culture can also play a major role in here.

Business is a group of teams, small team which I belong to, and the big team which we are all members in, starting a conversation breaks the ice with co-workers and enhance the communication between members, face to face conversation is the strongest communication style and will lead to better understanding and eliminates doubt, thus makes work flow smooth and everyone get to express their opinions, I would certainly start the conversation with all my co-werokers
