I believe both because, while someone with experience but no formal degree may be favored for certain jobs, he or she may find himself or herself reaching a saturation point in his or her career earlier and may struggle to advance professionally because the person is not considered adequately qualified.

Hi Well, i believe that after eight years in the retail, a higher degree will be a plus.
An MBA will for sure enhance-broaden your way of thinking and horizon. However, which MBA and what concentration has to be an important decision.
Moreover, one should study and work in parallel. The extra degree might be seen as a step in the self improvement process. It cannot be an end by itself and it cannot give a competitive advantage if other skills and personality traits are missing.

hello not only bachelor or higher.
any study even self study will add organized and professional thinking to manage retail activities.
the more degrees you get the more strategic you think.
this helps you to have overview over the retail outlets and develop long term objectives.

Having a bachelor degree or higher alone will not make you a better retail manager but you should combine it with a fruitful and productive experience will make you one.
As a believer of continuous learning & improvement, I would like to incorporate work experience with a proper training as this will professionalize the industry.
At the end of the day, we want people in the retail industry to benefit from it from the staff up to their customers.

Its the experience which counts.
Having practical experience, one can handle, resolve and succeed in Retail sales.
A fresh Graduate will not be able to perform without practical experience.
It is however important to study higher to enhance you abilities.

Based on my experience, hands on experience is very important but without the proper tools job advancement will be hard.
Those tools can be gained by reading, taking online courses and learning.
Higher studies is not important, if you are planning to specialize in a certain retail part you can take course to develop that particular skill.
Courses like marketing, problem solving, business analyzing, Training and development, etc.
As I said EXPERIENCE+TOOLS and you will be ahead of your game.

i don't think so, i know a lot of successful managers didn't have a bachelor's or higher studies but only practicing from along time give them the ability to be successful managers.

i don't think so a bachelor degree or higher studies can help out in retail.all you need is experience in all aspects.a degree cant implement things to practical, for that you need product knowledge.

I have20+ years of experience in Retail MNC's in Gulf. I weigh more on practical experience  then degrees. A degree helps at a later stage when you are thourough with practical knowledge.

European and American professionals to my knowledge, prefer exprience first  but  others prefer Degrees then experience.
