The main difference between an IT Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Professional is the real Test cases approach on the particular process or module. If any BA knows this then he can work as a QA. But It's not suggested approach if any BA doesn't aware of QA traditional workflow. But Quality checking is one of the roles for any Analyst of the Business.
