Procurement log indicates milestone for procurement of each item or a group of items:  Normally, the following points are noted as heading in excel format and data entered as per progress of procurement.

1.     Request # or requester

2.     Date of receipt of request

3.     Date of issue Bid Doc

4.     Date of receipt Bids

5.     Date of procurement committee meeting

6.     Date of issue of work order or purchase order

7.     Date of delivery at warehouse

8.     Date of payment.

We see that all the above information is related to date i.e. when completed and this is very important to track progress of procurement.

Activity log (or daily activities) indicates what has been achieved in each day and these achievement are necessary to reach the milestone. Examples: Before issuance of bid, someone needs to check the specifications thoroughly and prepare a bid document which certainly takes time and these activities are recorded in activity log.
