Can a maths graduate work in oil and gas company?

Not all the employers in oil and gas companies have science, geology, chemistry or engineering degree, there are of course other jobs in other domains.

The skills and experiences gained from a math major are useful in many careers like statistician, system developer , data analyst, ….. It is about analytical skills and the ability to work in a problem-solving environment, and these careers are vital in many companies and  industries including oil and gas companies.

Yes. Maths graduates with specialisation in statistics can work in oil & gas for data analytics especially in reservoir modelling

Why not?

Mathematics is very useful for a accountant. Even a gas company need to do budget and daily control for the production. Maths people also can help the company for oil trading.
