I have an excel file having multiple tables and number of rows around three hundred thousand My excel version is office three sixty five (two thousand sixteen) and currently its size on hard drive is twenty four MB. It got very slow due to size, any suggestion? I have to add another table of rows ten thousand.
If you’re using Excel 2007 or later, ensure your file is saved as .xlsx not in Excel 97-2003. If that doesn’t cut enough into the size of your file, save it as an Excel Binary Worksheet (.xlsb).
Please tell me how thank you for this question ^_^
there are a lot of ways to do that. The decision will based on many things like:
1. how large the file is?
2. what is your file extension (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsb, .xlsm)
3. what is the content of your file? is there a lot of pictures with high resolution.
to make things simple, the above are enough.
every case has it own way to reduce the file. In general, you can check this:
1. remove all unnecessary format. especially whole column color for format. this will surprise you when you will do it.
2. Delete all extra rows and columns the are out of your data range. use Ctrl+Home to find last used cell and delete all extra rows and columns. This will reduce the file considerably.
3. Use picture properties, if you have a lot of big pictures, to locate properties then image compressor.
4. Save the file as another name and use different format.
:)
hope this will help
Salam Mr. Owais,
Do you have any conditional formatting formulas which link to same cell?
It does take up lots of space and require lots of time to open as well.
If i can see only a part of the file then I may be able to help you out.
Love to troubleshoot these kind of problems.
Shrink the excel file size more than% without losing DATA
