The purpose of bitlocker is to protect against offline extraction of sensitive user data on a stolen PC, because the data itself tends to be more valuable than the PC. So if I was an attacker, here's the process I'd use to get that data:
1. Keep the PC off until a major build sees general release (at the current rate, that's about once every 6 months.)2. Once Microsoft announces a new build, connect the PC to the internet and it will automatically begin updating.3. When the PC reboots into winpe to apply the new build, press shift+f10.4. Run programs to lift the data off of the PC.
This isn't the only long-standing vulnerability with bitlocker, by the way.
