To build a brand and make it so attractive that everyone recognizes it.
It is about people. If a marketer's heart doesn't beat for people first, then the result of his/her marketing will be inclined towards something rather mercantile that another brand will eventually transcend.
To have a competitive advantage is twofold: first it is the optimization of key activities that leverages product performance/quality and reduces cost; the second is the capacity to listening to customer “secret voice” to identify unmet needs. Bringing your heart into a marketing activity is not only necessary today, but strongly expected to ensure marketing success.
Traditional marketing was about telling how great the brand was for consumers; Today’s marketing is about telling how great the brand is for People.
And doing that will bring un "je ne sais quoi" to the brand magnetism which will be difficult to match.
Again, for me it’s about people and we are now opening to a whole new type of marketing, where genuine interactions are paramount, thanks to social networks and communities that are becoming not just more demanding, but more consciously awakened.
Thank you for the invite.
A Marketeer is generally a person with a creative bent of mind who needs a creative outlet to express himself, and when this passion combines with a brand that he/she cares about and loves, it shows in the results and the target audience is drawn in, gets curious and finally falls in love with the brand as well (or is a converted lead in marketing terms).
Thus, the main motivation behind a Marketeer's success is his/her ability to channel his/her creativity for a brand that he is passionate about and loves, as someone else mentioned. This passion translates into the marketing output that he/she delivers and reaches the right audience at the right time, depending on the where the consumer stands and what kind of campaign the marketeer is running.
To fall in love with your brand. Marketing is something that doesn't happen overnight, you have to dive deep in your brand learn as much as you can and fall in love with it so you can market it easily!
The reports, plan and budgeting is definitely part of the hurdle.
