The best thing to do for me is to weigh-in which advice is better for that particular moment. Then carefully explain to the one that you did not choose your reason/s why you picked the other. As I always believe that best way to end conflict is to sit down and talk about it.
If this will happen to my situation I always confirm both sides and ask them which is right. I will let them talk to each other what do I really have to follow. If so, then I will weigh which one is better or right thing to do with. But it always come in different way I will do that if it is my co-worker or co-employees but If I will work with the top management I always follow the leader that is assigned to me. I will based my work decision on the organizational chart I know.
when I'm asking about direction, of course I knew my way but I'm asking to strengthen my point of view so, even they gave me conflicting directions, it will be very good to me to maximize my opportunity to have the good directions.
