If the company trainer can design a tailored program based on the actual needs of his staff this would be better as he/she is knowledgeable about the company culture, staff relations, resources and required outcome. But if he/she can not do that it is better to coordinate with an external trainer regarding what can best satisfy the needs of the employees and company through an input from the external trainer who may be expert with training modules, content delivery and required outcome but lack the knowledge of the company culture, staff relations.

  • It's better to design a tailored training program rather than relying on trainer.

Well, it’s purely depends on type of training, need and companies expectations.

If it is process based training, job or work oriented training. If the desired audience needed to be trained on certain skills and technology. If company wants that a very specific information or knowledge to be parted to the trainees.

One should go for customised, tailored and designed training contents and given to the trainer.

Otherwise it is suggested to let the trainer use his/her brain, material, creativity, content etc.

Trainings with leadership orientation, communication skills, confidence building, time management, people management and other broad topics , where trainer should be allowed to use his or her contents.

It's better to design a tailored training program because it may reply all your questions and be as per expectation.

Thanks for invitation,

As a manager, you have to specify "the training needs" of his staff, to the trainer who can decide / design the suitable training program that can settle "the training gap".

The training need must be identified by the company-conducted TNA and then the trainer must be given a window to customize his course based upon training needs!

One who's in Human Resources or Training and development department would be the right person to have a better understanding of training need assessments and also suitable program.

Thanks to invite.

If you are the best professional and knows very well the requirements than you may decide the training program with consultation of Trainer. If you are not concerning to the job requirements than refer the best professional to the trainer and let them decide the program in the line of accurate requirements.
