Definitely yes! To ensure that they are taught the right thing at the perfect time.  This will build their confidence in performing their jobs and they will have the impression that they joined a professional company.  This will specially motivate them to improve themselves and be loyal to the company.

Training is mandatory for freshers because they have only theoretical knowledge and not have practical knowledge.Training boost up the confidence and morale of the freshers and also the quality of work is improved . ultimately training is beneficial not only for freshers but organisation also so it is mandatory.

unless you have a structured matrix including all the skills needed to perform the job training will not be effective, it will be a waste of time and money.

So, you have to know the skills required for each type of job, what you will measure in recruitment and what you will need to train the new hired employees to perform their job in a perfect way that will guarantee a high probability of success, this cannot be done unless you have this matrix.

last thing, you have to measure the ROI for the training you are conducting to employees whether they are new or existing through monitoring the productivity associated with efficiency and quality of outputs/outcomes.

Its True that you require Training, But at times the candidates will not be trained because of the line managers not having so much of time to train but rather start with her responsibilities with the guidance of their managers.

In my opinion yes the training for fresher is a mandatory. Because they just came from  the colleges and some time most of their studies just in papers and only theoretical things. so, when they will start their careers it is like somethings new in there life so they need to adjust and understand well the real work environment so that why the training if very important for fresher.
