in these days no one can keep away his mobile phone especially students
if i m teacher and face this situation i ask my student to answer with speaker, he will know day by day and all their colleague the responsibilities in class room and he will not use again to not interfere in his privacy and to know also the importance of the time and the right of his colleague in the course.
When a mobile phone is present with a student in class, he/she is always distracted either the phone is turned off or on for most of the cases. The student is not going to concentrate to that level that the teacher want.So first of all mobile phones should strictly not be allowed to students in the school premises . If ever found, strict actions should be taken against that student and this will create a sense of fear in all other students and the ratio of cellphone usage will be lessened to a certain level.
Three methods
1- Let the students to put their mobile phones outside the class
2- Switched off their mobiles,
3- Attracting the students by using new way of teaching.
First i don't give any punishment to my students , i gave nice instruction through the way of affectional counselling and to understand them that while using mobile phone in classes will create so many problems like it will destroy their studies and their gud behaviour in class like that, my way of teaching is not through punishment we want to gave love and care to our children this is the only way to correct childrens
I will have a special box with cubby holes, so that students can file them in and take them out at break time and at the end of school.
By telling them to switch it off before gaining entry to the classroom. I will also introduce a fine to any student that failed to comply with the rules.I will also explain to them, the negative effect of using mobile phones in class.
Children show resilience when we try to control them. Rules or implementations would not deter them. maybe we can start with 'silent-mode' for classes. make the class interesting so the children would try to put their mobiles down on their own. instead of banning altogether, we could divert them to use smartphones to accomplish projects and slowly incorporate team work and interactive session, marooning them from mobiles in class hours
I always start the first classes by showing the students how I turn off the sound on my cell phone. I invite them to do the same and put their phone in their bags while I put mine in my pocket. Those who are still using their phone during class, and after several warnings, are invited to quit the room. It works pretty well that way for me!
Always make the class interesting and interactive one. We can shoot out questions which can be related to the topic what we teach. Always praise the students for their initiative for answering.
