I agree with the answers from Mr. Omar and Mr. Kelly but what if an Area manager or a Country manager who has made customers in his area or country and the customers follow him up all the time? This case may affect negatively to the movement/transfer.

It would actually depend on where the shuffling is happening and for which skills. Job rotation is a healthy practice when done for new employees as it gives them an understanding of the larger picture. However, for experienced functional teams it would be a real bad idea on most occasions to dismantle teams ever so often!

Thanks for invitation,

Yes agree for shuffling teams but after finishing some projects (not after a fixed period), to initiate new ideas, adding new comers as a team members with new specialization, excluding uncooperative and inoperative members in order to increase effective, efficiency and productivity of  the team.

I would say no because it could reduce overall performance. Because teams member will take the time to understand each member strength and weaknesses first, then will be able to work effectively. So in this regards it's not a good idea to shuffle. Other than that I am in favor of job rotation because that could lead to personnel development and in long run organizational development as well. Also, could result in an overall performance increase.

Thanks to invite.

If the progress of the team is well and up to the required level without any problem than it will be good to continue with the same team. Every professional takes a long time to gain his expertise, shuffling after 6 months hi/her efficiency may be affected badly.

Shuffling teams after every 6 months is more relevant for Technical roles rather than Functional roles; For example this will give better coding, testing skills,  creativity in implementing existing/new projects.

In general, Management will know the detailed analysis from team shuffling as follows

  1. Strength & weakness of particular team member

  2. Their multitasking abilities

  3. Adaptability to changes

  4. Designing better productivity process
