Self motivation is directly proportional for your team motivation! Isn't it?

Its regarding the self motivation of an individual who is managing a team and transforming his own motivation among his team members. Because getting all the toughness from the management still keeping your self and your team positive is a quite challenge.

That is a very good question, I like it and please allow to express my thoughts. It is an important characteristic of leaders/ managers to  be able to self motivate, to understand first their own values, weaknesses and strengths in order to be able to respond themselves to questions like "how can I motivate myself?"

On one hand, presenting yourself as a demotivated leader in front of your team will most likely have a direct impact in their own level of demotivation, hence it is an aspect that every leader or manager must take into consideration.

On the other hand, being yourself at a very high level of self motivation will not necessarily increase the motivation of team individuals, as individuals are motivated by different factors.

I would correlate this with the two-factor theory (also known as Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory and dual-factor theory) which states that the lack of a certain factor can demotivate but the presence/increase of that factor will not necessarily increase the level of motivation.

Yes it is.

For most people, staying driven is a challenge. When I feel like that, I remember what I'm fighting for. For me, self-motivation comes from striving to achieve anything I set my mind to and keeping my eyes focused on seemingly impossible dreams.

I remember a wonderful phrase I read before: Your people may have all the expertise in the world but, if they're not motivated, it's unlikely that they'll achieve their true potential.

You are right Mr.Nabeel . It is indeed very difficult for a team lead / manager to be motivated all the time in spite of getting the flak from all quarters. It is also true that one can not motivate others unless oneself is motivated.

Yes i strongly stand with this statement

" Self-motivation is directly proportional for your team motivation".

if team leader is not self-motivated then how can he arouse motivation level of his team. initiative would be taken to proceed forward with team. there are many ways to increase motivation level by involving team or giving them different assignments which involves your participation as well. when team leader works with teammates its automatically leaves positive effects over outcome of full team. so if someone needs to achieve set goals then he must be self-motivated and put personal efforts.
