Negotiation is when two parties are trying to find a solution to benefit both sides. 

Dispute is when one party was affected by the actions of another in a manner that has affected that party and it has to be established who is wrong and how the problem will be solved.

Dispute is when you lose power of negotiation while mixing emotions with your negotiation tools, while a good negotiator is in a backward position having all ears wide open trying to figure the full perspective of the other party in front of him in a way to know how and when to take the best action and manage to resolve ultimately the dispute.
