First, we have to understand the meaning of MIS before we consider it as irrevant or not in the any company.
According to Webopedia, MIS is largely refered to as the computer-based system that provides at the to System Managers disposals the tools to organize, evaluate and efficiently maintain consistency of services in a company.
From the above statement, we can clearly see that it is important to give a place for MIS in most of the organizations of today's business it is the basis of Information CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity, & Availability). It then extends to business continuity plan, capital plan, operational expense and project management. If these different levels of management are not taken into consideration, I do not think an organization will succeed or survive hence the importance of the existence of MIS in today's business world.
