Can you ask your supervisor for a level playing field?

It is the last month of your PMS rating . You have really slogged for the past months.

  • Case study . You are a marketing first line manager/or a manager  and for eleven months you have invested your full effort on your team /territory by cancelling your own  leaves and working those extra hours.
  • In the eleventh   month you are given a team which is in on the job training, you are assigned a totally new territory .
  • You PMS rating goes for a toss and you are at the bottom of the stack with no scope for promotion and even your very existence could be on line .
  • What do you do?

Documentation of achievements through the year is critical and if you have the right documents to prove what you did during the previous term, you should have no worries.

PS: If a company would value the last 'One' month only and IGNORE the previous 'Eleven' months of toil - this would definitely be a total lack of understanding Performance Management on the company's part.
