It is not the priority of the "looks" to be good. When I recruit, specially in sales I look for well-groomed individuals. It is no compulsion for them to look like models, but yes, proper grooming an being well put together is necessary as at the end, they are representing your company so they need to be presentable. But if i'm hiring for desk-job, again I will definitely look for the grooming part but not as through.
And my personal thoughts are wherever you work, whatever job, love yourself and you body. Dress-up not for everyone else but for yourself. And as famously said : Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. So when you look at yourself and find it to be beautiful, nothing else matters.

Many managers favor some employees only because they are pleasant, courteous, kind and benevolent towards them.
They give them privileges over other employees. This social discrimination creates tensions between employees following a legitimate jealousy and therefore will cause internal conflicts.
The manager must focus on the distinctive individual success factor in granting a particular privilege to an employee. This will be recognized and considered legitimate by all employees.
The employee shall be entitled to such privilege by:
Good looking employees are two types:
-Naturally good looking
- Good looking by grooming and being well dressed and well presented.
Naturally good looking people are naturally liked and accepted simply just because of the natural physical attraction
While those who are good looking by effort deserve to be accepted because of the interest they show and the effort they do (and the money they spend)
Being preferred at work just because of the physical appearance is an ethical dilemma and implicates a sort of discrimination, but to be truthful; think of front-desk and front -line staff and their image which either enhance or damage company image! you may find enough justification to prefer good looking employees but not to deprive others from their right to be hired in some other areas.
Imagine an obese salesperson selling products for diet! does this damage credibility or not? just an example.
It's a shame that it sometimes does and I can say that it is sadly a huge factor for some employers.
Fortunately, for other employers what really matters is skills, talents and results.
Looks alone does not ensure you get the job, Learn how to stand, to sit, to talk, to listen so that you look competent even if you do not have the LOOK.
For some certain jobs yes it is preferred.
Good question

if you mean dressing formally, no it's not a measurement.
Some times semi-casual is helpful for breaking the work day ice
Thank you. It varies job to job & company to company.
I think this is a bad habit. All human beings are created by God and God does not harm our image or our bodies, but it affects our hearts and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
The most important thing is the addition and purity and the science that you know what produces this gift and what to do
