Social Media is still quite new as a 'job' in the region.
The idea is that anyone can handle social media because they assume its about Facebook posts and Twitter Tweet s.
But especially since this year, I see a rise in the needs of social media 'specialists' and officers both in the private and public sector.
Social Media is becoming a major requirement to support offline activities.
Not every brand NEEDS social media - so it fully depends on the brand and its purpose to communicate to people.
Especially in countries like Qatar and UAE where social media plays a big part in day to day communication, social media people are becoming more and more popular.

Number of Social Media job vacancies is increasing very quickly.
However there is no specific clear skills or professional background are on the call - which make it tricky.
Everyone is still learning.
The best way to hunt a social media vacancy is to:
1- Read and study as much as possible, there are many resources out there.

2- Have a training in a company in which you involve managing social media.

3- Do some Freelancing (even for free for some time)

They are, and they're just going to increase.
Every brand will have its fans, and as such, every brand will be on social platforms whether or not the brand itself initiates it.
If your company doesn't get into the game now, some other fan will take over your brand on social platforms and will go with it.
I think companies are realizing this and are quickly moving in to claim their brand on social media sites.
As they do this, they will then need someone to manage these pages, whether it's their existing communications department or a new social media "specialist." Social media is today's buzzword.
Companies like cashing in on buzzwords.

it is a growing field

through my research i have really found that yougsters ages17 to23 are the most knowledgable people in this field.it is surprising but they are the baby boomers of this industry.

jobs will grow and become widely available along with the baby boomers growing,so opportunities will be filled by baby boomers.
