Answer:

HTML: HyperText Markup Language or simply HTML is the markup language used by web developers to create web [ages. It is written in the format of HTML elements containing tags bracketed in angle brackets like ‘
’. These tags use in pairs like
and
, although there are some empty elements as well and that is the requirement, like . Web browsers can read HTML files and render them into visible or audible web page. Web browsers don’t display HTML tags and scripts, but use them to interpret the content of the page. HTML describes the structure of a website semantically along with cues for presentation, making it a markup language, instead of a programming language. HTML elements form the structure blocks of all websites. It allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms.HTML5: HTML5 is the fifth version of HTML and is a core technology markup language of internet that is used for structuring and presenting the content for WWW. It is the latest, final and complete version of HTML standard of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). It is the successor of HTML4 that was standardized in. The aim of HTML5 is to improve the language by support of latest multimedia while keeping it user friendly and easily readable by humans and consistently understood by computers and devices such as web browsers parsers, etc. HTML5 is intended to subsume not only HTML4, but also XHTML1 and DOM Level2 HTML. HTML5 is a response to the fact that the HTML and XHTML in common use on the WWW are mixture of features launched by multiple specifications, along with those launched by software products such as web browsers, those established by common practice.HTML (main differences)- Doctype declaration in Html is too longer- Character encoding in Html is also longer - Audio and Video are not part of HTML4.-Vector Graphics is possible with the help of technologies such as VML, Silverlight, Flash etc.- It is almost impossible to get true GeoLocation of user browsing any website especially if it comes to mobile devices.- Browser cache can be used as temporary storage.- Not possible to draw shapes like circle, rectangle, triangle.- Does not allow JavaScript to run in browser. JS runs in same thread as browser interface.- Works with all old browsers.

HTML5 (main differences)

- DOCTYPE declaration in Html5 is very simple. - Character encoding (charset) declaration is also very simple. - Audio and Videos are integral part of HTML5 e.g. and tags.- Vector graphics is integral part of HTML5 e.g. SVG and canvas.- JS GeoLocation API in HTML5 helps identify location of user browsing any website (provided user allows it).- Application cache, web SQL database, and web storage is used.- Using Html5 you can draw shapes like circle, rectangle, triangle.- Allows JavaScript to run in background. This is possible due to JS Web worker API in HTML5.- Supported by all new browser.

Browsers are responsible for rendering of the web page content via these tags. Since long, HTML has not been the only web development standard. ... The maindifference between HTML and HTML5 can be that neither audio nor video is a constituent of HTML whereas both can be considered integral parts ofHTML5.
