Attitude! That shapes your behavior and thoughts towards job and relation with colleagues and seniors. Competency can easily be achieved with good attitude.

Attitude of an Organization is more important because it is the first thing which comes in every interaction with others, that's why an organization builds up a perfect attitude towards its corporate world and then compete with other organization. Building an attitude is the first step of competency.

Quite good question. Competency and Attitude both are important. The competency can be attained by attitude like objectives leads to goal. Goalless objectives.....

Attitude is much important than competency because attitude can attract competency. Having a great attitude towards a goal can drive competency and other important aspects.

Attitude is most important in project management. Even as competency is highly required, a project manager's attitude towards the scope of work, the team, and the stakeholders will define the success rate of the project.

the concept of competence is defined with respect to a certain context and a given task. It reflects the capacity of a person to perform the requested task to a certain level of quality. That means both knowledge and skills. But even skills means to know how-to-do a certain task. That converges toward the complex interpretation of the knowledge field being composed of rational knowledge (IQ), emotional knowledge (EQ), and spiritual knowledge (SQ). However, to a good job, it is also necessary a good motivation (attitude). All of them are very important and necessary. Knowledge means the power of understanding and yielding solutions and motivation constitutes the necessary trigger for doing.

I would like to make a difference between a job defined within a certain framework, for which you may have a job description and a job in a creative company for which there is no rigid job description. In this second situation, creativity is most important. For the first situation knowledge is a must and attitude will result from the management requirements, while for the second situation attitude is more important since the employee can search for the lacking knowledge if necessary. New ideas are more important than performing a routine work.

In conclusion, the answer to your question depends on the type of jobs and the type of organizational environment. There should be a difference between a routine workload and a creative one.

For me attitude would be one of the most important thing to be consider in hiring an employee because for me the skills in being competent can be learn but the attitude is very difficult to develop because it comes from within and you can never dictate or told on how people react / how to behave into his co worker and maybe for a short period of time he/she will pretend to be good but when difficult times occur or if he is under-pressure he/she will shows the real him and it is really diffult to control if his within the organization already specially if his a boss or belongs to the top management you can never tell of anything and can be cause of no teamwork effect and worst cases massive resignation and unmotivated worker.
