What is the need for training in the organisation?

Is it to increase productivity, improove qality , to improove health and safety, or to prevent obsolence. What is the main objective of training.

When the the productivity is not meeting the Organization requirements then there is a need for training.

1. Legislative (determined by the country's constitution) - Occupational Health and Safety act requires training, Trade specific requirements, company procedures

2. Statutory training - e.g. hazardous chemicals, radio active training, permit to work are all examples of training that are mandatory to do your work

3. Development for competence in the job - on the job coaching, building skills to do the job better

4. Personal development of employee - to harness the "off-the-job" skills of the employee (career planning, talent management)

 

All of the above is extremely important, as this enables the company to have the best skills available at all times.
