Many things. Poor service, poor product and or issues that are unrelated (personal issues) .
In most cases if you take the time to listen and understand your customer and make an effort to assist them with genuine care - you usually can get the result you wanted.

So many matters,(1) at work- not satisfied on their salary and designations specially hired overseas, late salary issuance and work Management. (2)Personal, Homesickness, no family and friends on their side specially when its off time.
If his/her contribution to organization is not acknowledged.
What makes an unhappy employee unhappy... google for the answer as since the Persians, Egyptians and Romans they studied this subject.
