I really had a hard time accepting when I noticed this matter in applying for a job here in the Philippines and abroad too.
For an Executive level,it is necessary to fulfill both qualifications and relavant experiences.Due to gaining these experiences age should be in long.So age is not factor for this type of position.But filling the managers or field officers/employee it is necessary to need optimum age i,e the young employees.As because these positions are works by both physical and mental effort.
Yes because they want a resource with a number of years experience and a certain level of qualification, it will also reflect your age and then there is an age descrimination.
In backward countries, discrimination is reported but in the advanced countries, equal opportunity is give to everyone.
Unfortunately age is a consideration everywhere - most companies will deny it but it's out there

maybe you mean that the job requirements determine the age by the effort (physical,intellectual,...) and experience required.certainly the experience we get advanced age and not when you receive the certificate from college
