Well, my passion for translation started with receiving training in the political field, but it was in the newspaper industry. I like political translation but I prefer translation of news rather than being with a political figure. If I was asked this question before, I might have gone for that but since I have a family now and different responsibilities, working as a freelancer or behind the desk is my preferred choice.

for me, NO. I would like to be an interpreter to be heard in the channels.

Thanks for invitation , This question depends on how you want your career to be, the first option surely will be avoided by many translators because it involves live translations for the political figure you work for & any miss-translated word can have huge impact, as for the second option it is what every translator would think of to get when get hired: sitting behind a desk, time to translate all kind of stuff at ease & comfortable.I personnaly would go for the second option because i think it's i'm good at but still the first option offers a great opportunity to see the world !!Have a good one

Currently I work for both but I prefer the first option as it involves dealing with different people from all around the world and indeed it is more enriching as experience.

Dear,

Thanks for your invitation, then for sure in all positions you will get a good experience, then its my pleasure to to inform you that I worked in both, and my opinion that in political and diplomatic filed was much sophisticated than disks at all, simply because in the public bodies in general you are obliged for several tasks, including the translation, but in disks you are restricted in your tasks no more. so at the end I found the political figure more enjoyable, that it boost my skills, with knowing a different types of the society.

BEST

Greeting,

Translation for political figures is risky, but surely pays off, especially as a CV and relations. On the other hand, translating behind the desk is safer, but hurts your back(as I suppose).

I personally like to work for a political figure just so I can stand out when I apply for a vacancy at a company.

Thanks!

 Thanks for the invitation

I would prefer working as a translator behind a desk as I do not really like travelling

I do work, and also prefer to work a translator behind my desk.

WHy? Because I have nothing to do with political figures or what they do!
