monitor network traffic by using wireshark program
Hi,
I have had a great experience with working on one such tool called Netflow designed by Manage Net Engine. Cisco Routers have a compatibility with Different versions of Netflow v1, v5, v7, v9.
Its very simple to configure on the router and on the End point Desktop where you will be installing this software, you can have Customized Reports such as Top5 sources, Top5 destinations, TOP10 conversations, Bandiwdth Utilization Reports based on Interfaces and it can store data as long as you have IP accounting enebled on the Router INterfaces.
However its a Licensed Software with a trial version of30 days, i usually use it in the trial mode so as to anaylse the Network traffic over a period of15-20 days and if required, we can reinstall the software after the trial period is over.
Hope this helps!!!
Use a PC with wireshark installed and plug it into an RSPAN port switch.
wireshark can do it
