An employee can not judge the merits of his/her boss.
If he has a disagreement with the head who creates this idea, the best thing to do is help him/her to resolve disputes or enhance his abilities.
Nothing will succeed except by working together and helping everyone with each other.

His incompetancy is not to be decided by my findings, this decision is better to be left with his seniors. Yes if my findings suggests that he lacks in someway or the other its best that I correct him in my capacity.
I will respect him irrespective of work knowlege as he deputed by the Management; I am not answerable for his performance . I need to do my assigned job. I will share my knowledge & experiences as required by him towards Company development / benefits. I will work towards improvement of my department by sharing knowlege & experience to all my colleages.

First of all no body knows every thing so some one may have subsanderd competency that not mean he/she could not be a leader. A leader will have lot of Knowldge.
I will do my best to support him because I am sure he has something special and different that the top management has chosen for this position.
Its unfair to say it. He/she may be expert in someother field and he/she is brought into for some organization reason.
A) I would try to help my boss to improve but if still cannot after cetain time I would discuss it with him directly and ask him to take proper action to correct the situation. If he fails again I would report the problem to his line manager.
