Is it true that product catalog / prospectus will bring more sales to company better than a salesman does?

In my opinion a sales man with a product catalog will bring good sales to the company. Catalog  makes it easy to explain the customer about the product and the company profile

I think both are important. both have their own requirement on their place. both are required to increase the sale of product.prospectus is a medium of advertisement to give information about company and products. it can be stored by customer for future requirement ( when they need any information about the product they can read ).salesman is the soul of a company. They present the company face. they can read customer faces and what customer thinks they can understand. salesman have ability to make personal relation with customers.

i dont think so. catalogues are just to inform potential clients the products features and uses. it does nt always have to tally with sales. catalogues main function is to provide info about the product. well, this is also the main function of a salesman too; but is different completely. a salesman can identify and find the need of the the clients, whereas a catalogue can only sell its benefits. a catalogue cannot handle objection or close the deal, where as a salesman can close the deal by handling objections.

so i beleive that its the salesman who can profit the company by bringing in sales whereas a catalogue is just a tool for a salesman to interact with their clients.

this is just my point of view...

Now a days people are looking for a better product which includes their matching with the product and the product to be bio friendly, Its a job of sales men to sale the product but also customers has some deflections in their mind to look the description of the product for satisfaction. In my point of view Product Description plays an important role for the sales.

in my opinion a catalog is more effective then sales man now days. company should have make catalog much more beautiful and easier to understand customer.

It will help to further give our customers knowledge about products or services we have without them going to the store personally. But an attentive salesman will do the job even better.

first let us agree that that almighty ALLAH who give livelihood but we have to take over the reasons

Now, the subject is relating to 

  • the size of the store
  • the type and the amount of products the store sales
  • the type and the average amount of customers who visit the store /day

i am interesting about the customer actions and reactions. Generally, there are 2 types of customers

  1. some customers like to make their own decisions without any human interfere, so here , the catalag is a priority. in the same time, the salemans are present in the store , but the policity of the store imposed on them to not interfere only if the customer demanded that
  2. another customers like that a saleman did to clarify and to present the promotion for them. here, the saleman is dominance and the catalog has no effect
  3. another type of customers don't like neither the catalog and nor the cooperation of a saleman - they are satisfy to check the product by themself and the price or the promotion that is followed by the product itself and then decide if the product match with their want and their ability to pay

Both the prospectus & salesman are important, although a salesman is more important & relevant than a prospectus. A prospectus mainly serves one role, informing & providing relevant information about a product to the customers or prospective customers WHILE a salesman offers a wide range of services for instance; 1. Presenting the products & product catalogue to customers & explaining to them how it works.2. Generating & qualifying leads. 3. Sourcing & developing client referrals. 4. Preparing sales action plans & strategies. 5. Schedule sales activities. 6. Develop & maintain customer database. 7. Plan & conduct direct marketing activities. 8. Market research & survey. 9. Perform quality checks forptoduct & service delivery. 10. Customer relationship management etc. Therefore, a salesman is more important & relevant than a prospectus or product catalogue thus a salesman with a good catolgue is deemed to perform better or achieve the best results.
