Recession is  one of the best periods to invest in land, either for future re-sale or personal use, as the value of lands generally goes extremely down during this period, even more than any other real estate due to the rush in selling any liquidable assets as well as reduction in people’s purchasing power. One must take precautions though on selecting the best locations that would appreciate the most when market gets back to its stable condition.

There is no perfect time to buy a land property due to market forces of demand and supply and prices fluctuations. However, the right time to buy is when the market is at its low, this is because property prices would be low. When the market pick up, property prices will increase making it a sound investment.

If you need a loan to finance the buying process, then you have to wait when the interest rates is low. This is because the interest rates impact hugely on the mortgage repayment.
