Basically the deal is the same as in the Nordics due to snow and ice - i.e. clean them up (with dedicated cleaning units), and build protective surfaces/barriers in the particularily exposed areas.

There is only periodic maintenance,
There is an other phenomenon, sand deposit can be solid after raining ...in this case we need strong washing of components and mobilized pieces.
