In my opinion, yes you can resign, but you can not return to you previous job, you need to find something new

Prior to joining, I would have thoroughly understood if I will be able to contribute effectively to the position I am about to join. Once I do, I will definitely adapt, learn and ensure to I add value to the position.

I guess you should stay and learn new things there for some certain time period then find some new one with complete home work.

I will never get back to my old job rather i will prefer to explore something new and meanwhile i would stay and learn the new things. I would prefer to make that job an interesting one by adding my skills and bring  changes (If my boss allows) and make it adapted according to my interests.
