The neutral conductor carry zero sequence currents. Harmonic currents (high frequency currents) are major component of zero sequence current. This leads to heating of transformer neutral conductor to compensate skin effect. Hence, the transformers feeding non-linear loads are provided with 200% neutral conductor size.
