Its the era of social media marketing. currently its not going to vanish until some powerful replecement comes.
Intersting Question! One day certainly Social Media Marketing would Vanish. But so would we or even this Earth.
Technology evolves and if we see even Social media has evolved over last 15 years. Earlier we knew Yahoo Messenger for chatting, then came the viral Orkut which is now extinct after the advent of Facebook and other social media following it. Even Facebook back of early 2011 does not exist now. It is complete new avatar in 2018.
As per the rule of nature everything evolves and what does not evolve, vanishes. So social media marketing is to stay as long as it evolves with the changing need of the hour.
Social media marketing now is complete different ball game compared to 5 years back. I am sure 5 years from now it would be a New World all together for Social media marketing compared to now.
Social Media Marketing will never vanish. It will simply grow stronger.
One day it might vanish with some other replacements. But currently it is getting stronger
When you say one day, which day do you mean? Armageddon or doomsday? :) of course everything will perish on those days but for the current scenario that is not going to happen as if you analyze the latest report you will find that Social Media is here to not only stay but grow more as many developing countries are now growing and that growth has spurred lower mobile/device rates, cheaper internet plans, more people being educated about Social Media and due to all of that the usage is growing, one could say that if any thing can change, it is platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google+ etc.

Digital is the future. Social media marketing will not only grow, it will outgrow any and all types of traditional marketing.
